Welcome to Solomon's Conservative Wisdom

Welcome to my Conservative Blog, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom. The name comes from my middle name and the historical & biblical figure King Solomon, now I make no claim to have Solomon's Wisdom, but I do have Common Sense. I welcome anyone to join in and comment about anything I may have written, posted or one of my Articles / Columns. This blog is dedicated to conservatism and freedom. I invite all conservatives to join in, I don’t mind non-conservatives joining in (after all the only way to change liberals and fence-sitters is to debate them and change their minds, some are just too hard headed to admit they are wrong) . All I expect is a respectful debate.

I have recently split my postings to a few other blogs I own, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom II, and Solomon's Conservative Wisdom at Townhall.com, to spread out some of my postings.
So check them out and tell me what you think.

Please comment on my Articles and Columns, as well as any other post that is not just a link to a story.

I want to know what others think and have a debate. And make sure to check out my Articles and Columns if you haven't already.

So tell everyone you know.

Quote of the Month

"Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood."

General George S. Patton

Bonus Quote

"If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

Yes, Bill O'Reilly There is a Slippery Slope, and I Can Prove It.

Yes, Bill O'Reilly There is a Slippery Slope, and I Can Prove It.

With Bill O'Reilly saying that he is “fine with” president Obama acting like a thug in chief to BP instead of someone who has been sworn to follow, obey, and enforce the law I thought I would do my own version of a familiar Christmas article, this one pointed to Bill O'Reilly and all those who are fine with the President of the United States acting like a dictator or thug towards a company who, yes, has made a mess, but it is not a reason to throw away something that isn’t broken.

Now for the feature.

Yes, Bill O'Reilly there is a slippery slope, and the first nation, at least in this example, to experience it was ironically, Us. Yes it was the United States of America who first felt what you might call a fictional thing called the slippery slope, those responsible, the progressives and the one who lead this was Woodrow Wilson who passed many a progressive law so much so that after he was out of office that the people overwhelmingly elected a man who said he would undo many of what Wilson fought to pass. Of course you are saying by that only proves there is no
slippery slope, but I haven’t finished. Next to continues greasing the slope and pushing us down it was F.D.R. a man who was elected four times and lead to the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, who originally campaigned as a conservative, during his term in office he passed many a progressive legislation which only made the depression in the US so “great.” Many of his ideas specifically the social programs have left us with a great debt that is unfunded to a tune of one hundred trillion.

Now for my ultimate proof of the slippery slope, a man by the name Adolf Hitler and the nation of Nazi Germany, in the name of “emergency” Hitler was able to not only push a nation down the slippery slope but to lead that nation to utter destruction. In the name of “emergency” Hitler demanded more power, and he got it, in the name of an “emergency” Hitler demanded that parents couldn’t home-school their children, and he got it (by the way that law is still in place,) in the name of an “emergency” Hitler demanded that the government control who could own a gun, and he got it, in the name of an “emergency” Hitler demanded that they regulate the undesirables, and he got it, the start of control of the people, media, and eugenics began, then in the name of an “emergency” Hitler demanded further regulation of the undesirables, this lead to the rounding up of the “evil Jew” into cattle cars and taken to the death camps like Auschwitz, Dachau and, Buchenwald, and the full horrors of what eugenics represent would be implemented.

So in finishing Mr. Bill O'Reilly, yes there is a slippery slope, and you must always watch your step because as Adolf Hitler showed you can make anything sound like a good idea if you make it an “emergency,” yes I know the Gulf is a mess, and BP should and will pay for it but for the love of God we should follow the rule of law, least we lose that which we love so much, our freedom, which our for fathers fought so hard to win.

Solomon.

P.S. By the way O'Reilly has blown the “little people” comment by the BP person way out of proportion. Incase Bill O'Reilly throws the “look at the poor oily pelican,” yes it is sad to see that poor bird in that shape, but the rule of law should not be thrown a way for emotion. Oh, and the idea that you O'Reilly approve of thuggish tactics, such as the baseball bat idea, disturbs me.

And on another thought I chose Buchenwald as an example death camps so I could tell you this historical fact, when General George S. Patton and his Third Army liberated Buchenwald concentration camp he was horrified at what they found, the local German citizens claimed that they didn't know what was going on, though a few admitted to knowing of the atrocities but insisted they had been powerless to stop it. He ordered American troops to round up the locals and march them through the camps. He wanted them to see the atrocities firsthand.

  1. Well said, Solomon. The slippery slope has been going on for a while, and every now and then, we get a President that increases the slope. Obama is the latest.

  2. It's a 100+ year plan. When Bork, got 'borked' He wrote 'Slouching Towards Gomorrah'.

It's over 20+ years old. It's all happening now.

Cloward and Piven. The killers have been reading it for a long time.
