Is the GOP becoming New Coke?
You see the mistake Coke made was that the tests Pepsi used in their ads and research were biased towards Pepsi when coke fell for this they made the mistake that the GOP is now making only now with more far reaching consequences. But Coke quickly learned their flagship product and name sake being “like” their competition didn’t work as they had hoped for. Public reaction to new Coke quickly soured, ironically lead by a minority of people, soon that opinion steam rolled to a point where Coke was forced to return to the real thing and their roots. The GOP will quickly learn that same lesson as their new coke candidates lose and the classic candidates win. For now I believe that conservatives need to think about what they are going to say as your not just running against a democrat but their own version of peovda that will run you into the ground just for the heck of it. We will also need to work together better with less infighting, leave that to the democrats, disagreements are fine but leave the full-fledged fights to the ring.
One last thing for you Tea Party candidates rehearse everything you believe in, you do not need to lie but simplify any opinion that the MSM could below out of proportion to one that most “moderates” and independents wouldn’t hold against you. Know your enemies winning a battle and war is about the plan & preparation as much as the equipment. Memorize every “controversial” conservative social belief according to the MSM and ready yourself for battle.
By the way after Coke Classic was returned to the market New Coke quickly died out, it was then returned to the market in 1990 in small test scale as Coke II and fully in 1992, but soon Coke II withered and was then found only in a few markets where it was popular until its production was ended in August 16 2002. Proving that often a bad idea that is tried and failed should be left in the graveyard of bad ideas.
Solomon.
P.S. I would note it is possible that the GOP is dead with the choices they make, but if they do return later to the “classic” formula (A.K.A. triditional values) they could be repaired and healed to a proper state that people would believe in, preferably keeping an eye on them as well, allowing the Republican Party to pull a Lazarus. But that is yet to be seen if that will happen.

The Trouble with Mandatory Minimums
A couple of weeks a go Bill O'Reilly did his usual desk pounding this time for Mandatory Minimum sentences. See here. As usual O'Reilly only goes skin deep on the subject without really looking at why judges are giving such low sentences to criminals. Now other then the fact it's Bill O'Reilly who's head is so hard you could hit it with an asteroid a mile wide and it would survive, the real problem is the people who elect progressive judges or progressive politicians how then appointee those judges.
You see the real problem is when people just vote for candidate AAA or for some random guy on the ballot, which often benefits the liberal progressive politicians and judges. That problem is compounded when people like O'Reilly compound the problem with Mandatory Minimums and while it can be a good thing when used against pedophiles and rapists when you start getting in to other areas where there would be a need for common sense to rule you remove it. And even then it is no guarantee that O'Reilly's precious Mandatory Minimums would survive if the Supreme Court's Chief Dread Pirate Coward Justice Roberts joined with the progressive judges on an extreme case and declare them unconstitutional under the cruel and unusual clause.
Then all those criminals you thought were off the streets are suddenly all out at one time.
The only real long term solution is to vote in conservative and constitutionalists in to those seats who will judge cases appropriately. That does not mean it will be fixed everywhere but we will not be handing our power to people who have messed things up for the last century.

Its the same thing with most progressive laws and regulations they only need their foot in the door, then they can get into your home to tell you how to live your life, and possibly what to think.

The "Human Rights" Con
With the Obama Administration wanting to make Health Care a human right, these stories should be a wake up call to those who have been coned by this scam of these new human rights.

You Got a light?!

If you haven't heard about it yet, Qatari diplomat Mohammed Al-Madadi (age 27) decided to make a really stupid joke when he was caught trying to smoke in the restroom of an airliner in flight, the joke was that he had been trying to light his shoes. Oh but it gets better, he was on his way to see a convicted 9/11 terrorist. We are told don't even say 'Hi Jack' in the airport even if you see someone named 'Jack,' what did they tell him when he was chosen to be a diplomat, did they even tell him what to do and not to do, not to attack his age but he is 27 you would think they (Qatar) would have had an older diplomat tutor him in what to say and not say. After all it could have turned out a lot worse for him, on the plane, if the passengers had panicked thinking it was a terrorist act.
Personally this guy needs a kick in the pants at the least for his 'joke,' but that's just me, or is it. I would like to hear from some others and I will post a poll on it.

Dr. Phil's Legal Troubles
First to answer this question and then I will comment, Two guests who admitted to committing crimes on the show end up in jail; do the convicts have a case against the TV host? Hell, NO!
Now for my commentary,
I actually watched this episode when it was first aired a few years ago, after all could you? With all the previews talking about them I just couldn't resist it, and I have to say it was like watching an accident happen in real life in slow motion. What isn't shown in this clip is the fact that they wanted Dr. Phil's help to go legit, they wanted to start a legitimate business by selling non-stolen goods by buying things direct from manufacturers to sell online. That was part of the "Help" they wanted, and I can guarantee you that even Dr. Phil wanted no part in that. And the worst part about this couple is they took their kids with them on their shoplifting excursions and might have used them in shoplifting. Not to condone criminal activity, they defiantly qualify for stupidest criminals, if they had any brains they would have sold off most of their "merchandise" and bought some kind of small business or a franchise of some kind, all stories of criminals "going legit" they take their illegitimate earnings and invest them into some kind of legitimate business, and again I do not condone criminal activity.
The funniest thing about this when it first aired was the fact that as soon as it was aired the police and other law enforcement agencies would be fast tracking some warrants to search their house and property.
I have to ask this Judge one question did you even watch this show, if you had you wouldn't have come down on Dr. Phil you would have praised him for exposing them. And as to the issue of warning them he did, also it wasn't a live show, in terms of being aired live, they could have asked to stop taping and go to a lawyer. And as to a lawyer, I don't think even Johnnie Cochran could get them off.

The twelve-year old killer

I don't exactly remember what it was about a few years ago but ironically it might fit for some recent stories in the news.
And as to the issue of trying the boy as an adult, he took a gun and !warning possible disturbing imagery!, blow her head off with a shotgun! I have a hard time wanting to be soft on this boy blowing someone's head off with a shotgun isn't something a normal person would do even when in a violent situation defending themselves.
Solomon.
P.S. by the way blowing someones head off with a shotgun is usually reserved for use ageist zombies and use by the occasional crazy killer, which, the latter may apply to the boy in the story if he is disturbed.

Government Licensing Gone Wild!
This is a continuation of my previous post, Herman Cain on American Live W/Megyn Kelly, from yesterday. While this originally aired on 3/11/2010, it works with my previous post.
This whole issue of Licensing and Licenses, with some exceptions, is crazy. I can give you some good examples you might find ridiculous, as I posted back in my post, My Rage at the Minimum Wage, from 1998-2005 I ran my own small business, with myself as the only employee, I mainly sold collectible games, you might know some of them Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and several others as well as gift items for anyone. First for most of my time I was at a place called the Barnyard Flea Market in South Augusta, well I had to have a business license to be in one of the Mini Stores spots, as did everyone else, and this wasn't the market's policy this was law by Richmond County. I didn't think, still don't, that you should have a business license to sell cards, games or gift items, I still have friends over their that have to have a business license. Just a short list of items they sell toys, craft items ranging from things made from wood, cloth, beads, thread, and paper, movies, tapes, DVDs, and, music (all legitimate originals, no counterfeit goods,) Clothing new, used, and handmade, coins and other collectibles, used-not new glassware, plates, china, etc, books, comics, computers and other electronic items, other household items, and so much more, but if you wanted to do this in a Mini Store spots you needed a business license. Yet if you were to sell the same things in one of the open spaces you didn't need one, why? Probably because the county didn't think that any one would set in a space consecutively, but they do I know several people who use the same spaces, renting by the month, who sell the same stuff as people in the Mini Stores, including produce.
If you didn't read my previous post, Herman Cain on American Live W/Megyn Kelly, do so now because it is important for the next part. . . . . Ready, good.
As I said before when government sticks its nose in the business of businesses all it does is cause trouble for more then 75% of the time, such as with the railroads, only a few businesses one can really argue should be regulated, such as those that deal with food, and then only as far as it takes to keep the food supply clean and safe and no further. Because when it does it only increases the coasts of business, often to the risk of that business's health.
And before I finish this up I want to repeat something, Caveat Emptor, let the buyer beware!
Solomon
P.S. I want comments on this, especially any arguments on why people who sell cards, games, and some other things listed, almost all second hand, should have to get a business license to sell. Especially from any one on the left, but fellow conservatives are free to have fun with it too.

Jack Webb Schooling Roman Polanski on Sex with Children
Considering my past posts, I decided to post this video of Jack Webb Schooling Roman Polanski on Sex with Children, (I know its a little old), I think its relevant considering Planned Parenthood's history when it comes to their reporting about possible children impregnated by older men. Salt the new Prohibition
If any one has not seen the move Demolition Man or read the book Brave New World you should check them out. Freedom is about more then speech or religion, while I don't like the "alternative lifestyles" I don't want to ban them, I just don't want to give them the special rights they claim to deserve, or have their lifestyle shoved down my throat. Do the food Food Nazi's even realize the diet of people throughout the ages, for most of civilization salt was the only way to preserve food. Even when their ideas enrage the public they just write us off. The Tea Parties are a good start, but the people need to send a message to their local governments as well.
And as to the issue of other peoples lifestyles (at least when it comes to diet), maybe if you stopped listening to the Liberals on Health care and listened to those of us on the Right you might just get It. Lastly look up the Prohibition Era in the US and then apply that to Salt, Sugar, and transfats. (Note, I have a different opinion on the war on drugs compared to that of the Prohibition of Alcohol. I will explain this later.)

Man Dies After Choking on Bag of Pot During Arrest
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,580083,00.html?test=latestnews
What a cartoon taught me about economics and inflation
where it would implode back into the original object. Huey, Dewey, and Louie use this ray on a coin and spend it, through the process of the show the coins continue to duplicate to the point where they cover the entire city. As the coins duplicate the cost of everything goes up and up, to the point where it is shown that it takes a kids wagon full of coins to buy something that originally cost only one or two of the same coin.
Now to help ones imagination to better understand how inflation works let me create a scenario. Lets have a small village of 50 people and that the currency used is made up of three coin types, made of three precious metals gold, silver, and copper, respectively. Now lets say that it takes ten silver coins to equal one gold and one hundred copper coins equal one gold coin and the total number of the coins are this, 20 gold, 200 silver, and 2,000 copper coins. Now lets say some strangers come through the village and spend lavishly spending only silver coins, spreading
the wealth as some would say, adding a total of 2,800 silver coins with no removal of the other two. Now you have more silver coins chasing fewer goods lets say that a chicken before was only two copper coins but now there are more silver coins then copper so the price increases because there are fewer copper to silver the exchange rate inflates to match, so now it takes at least two silver coins to buy a chicken. This effect would be felt throughout the village so if someone else came through they would find the prices high in that village.
This effect has happened throughout history, but when money was tied to a precious commodity like gold or silver most prices tended to stabilize with in a reasonable amount of time. But with the abandoning of tying a paper currency to a commodity you get situations like what happened in the post-WWI government of Germany the Weimar Republic where they printed up so many Marks that it took a wheelbarrow full of Marks to buy a loaf of bread.
Now with the Obama administration running the printing presses on full blast to the point of burning them out, we should fear what will happen when the inflation catches up to us, like Jason in a Friday the 13th horror movie.
On a final thought it might be a good Idea to get the series DuckTales for your kids if you have any, they can actually learn a lot from that series.
