Welcome to Solomon's Conservative Wisdom

Welcome to my Conservative Blog, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom. The name comes from my middle name and the historical & biblical figure King Solomon, now I make no claim to have Solomon's Wisdom, but I do have Common Sense. I welcome anyone to join in and comment about anything I may have written, posted or one of my Articles / Columns. This blog is dedicated to conservatism and freedom. I invite all conservatives to join in, I don’t mind non-conservatives joining in (after all the only way to change liberals and fence-sitters is to debate them and change their minds, some are just too hard headed to admit they are wrong) . All I expect is a respectful debate.

I have recently split my postings to a few other blogs I own, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom II, and Solomon's Conservative Wisdom at Townhall.com, to spread out some of my postings.
So check them out and tell me what you think.

Please comment on my Articles and Columns, as well as any other post that is not just a link to a story.

I want to know what others think and have a debate. And make sure to check out my Articles and Columns if you haven't already.

So tell everyone you know.

"If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking."

Quote of the Month

Runs until 11/07/2012

"Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood."

General George S. Patton

Bonus Quote

"If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen."

President Barack Hussein Obama II

My Rage at the Minimum Wage

First I want to give some background information on myself, first I dropped out of high school in 93-94 after that I took home schooling and night school classes. I never finished high school officially or have gotten a GED yet, but I know a lot more then some of the graduates of Collages. From 1998-2005 I ran my own small business, with myself as the only employee, I mainly sold collectable games, you might know some of them MtG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, and several others as well as gift items for anyone. I did alright up until after Christmas 2004 and closed up in the middle 2005. It was also around that time that my father was diagnosed with cancer and I took care of him until he died in March of 2007. This is where my rage at the minimum wage starts since then I have been trying to find any job, but all I get are no responses or they are looking at other candidates for the job. All I want is a job, some place to start, not some high paying position, this is where the left has come in to ambush people like me.
It all started with this whole living wage idea born of socialism and communism, but before that I am going to take us back earlier in America’s history before the progressives started to corrupt the country with their agenda. Earlier in America you could start from nothing with nothing not even a proper education as it is dictated today, good example of this is many of the founding fathers and many men and women up to world war one, literally self-made men who learned on their own and made it with hard work or good ideas and a strong leaning to individualism. One could be employed someplace and work for small wage, something we might scoff at today, and through hard work and willingness to do the job work their way to the top,
many of the ‘robber barons’ did exactly that. But the progressives didn’t like that, so they called them robber barons and many other terms to make the people hate them.
Now the minimum wage was born from two parents we should be wary of, Good
Intentions and Progressive-Socialist Agenda, Good Intentions wanted to actually help people by setting a minimum wage so that people might be able to live on that until they have worked their way higher up the pay ladder, but it was Progressive-Socialist Agenda who is the schemer, they knew that once they had the minimum wage law started they could use it every time they needed a boost by using it like a club over the heads of any one who stood in its and their way.
The minimum wage is in my opinion a pyramid scheme, the idea that by taking money from the top to lift up the bottom won’t work, it will always stay at the same height. My biggest issue with the minimum wage is the term living wage that the left always wants to use saying that a family can’t live on it and adjust to a family, they don’t think about people like me who are single with no kids and is desperately trying to find work, most employers when the minimum wage rises fire the lowest on the pay ladder. Making those entering or trying to enter the job market suffer, and the left hopes they will become democratic zombie voters.
The next problem with the minimum wage is even if an employer doesn’t fire anyone, it will increase its prices to cover the new costs, and small businesses suffer the most with little wiggle room they are the first to go under when the minimum wage costs them too much.
Many of us who are looking for a job would take work for less then the minimum wage, but the left can’t have that if more people were to work for less then the minimum wage and start getting a head it would be their down fall.
