Welcome to my blog, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom. The name of this blog comes from my middle name and the historical & biblical figure King Solomon. This group is dedicated to conservatism, and I invite all conservatives to join, I really don’t mind non-conservatives joining. All I expect is a respectful debate. So tell everyone you know.

The Bay of Rigs.
I knew Obama's Oval Office Speech was going to be a progressive propaganda piece, but I didn't think he would be stupid enough to say that they were drilling in mile deep water because we are running out of easy oil. Boy was I wrong! After weeks of pundits talking about the reason why they were drilling out that deep was because the Feds were forbidding them to drill where the easily accessible oil is, it's now obvious for someone as clever as he is he thinks that he can pull the wool over the Americans eyes he is a fool.
And as to the regulations issue it was regulation that caused the housing bubble and crisis, it was government regulation that made the Great Depression so "Great." The current regulations on the Oil industry has only made things worse and more regulations will only make the Oil Crisis of the 1970s look like the golden days.
Now as to the "I will lay the law down to BP" and the putting the money aside issue, there is an old saying Mr. President "Don't throw stones if you live in a Glass House," well Mr. President I don't live in a glass house but you do, does the Social Security Lock Box sound familiar. I don't care if it is going to be a third-party running it, BP is a privet business and I would trust them when it comes to an account with money set aside over the Feds or one of their third party friends. BP should pay for what has happened, for the clean up, and for businesses that have lost income due to this disaster, but I want to say this if you start demanding BP pay people who have no injuries from this disaster I will be one of the first to side with BP, as with the Katrina scams where people were using government handed-out money to go Strip Clubs! The American people did not like that, and if you try to force BP to pay scamers the American people will side with BP.
And as to the clean up, does suspending the Jones Act make sense to you, or did you bother watching Huckabee this weekend? I doubt it your progressive ideas cling to things like the Jones Act. And the EPA refused to allow one of the ideas that was shown on Huckabee this weekend because they didn't approve it, you haven't reached out to those people with their ideas, that's real leadership Mr. President, Not! (By the way check out some of the video from this weekends Huckabee.) Which if he watched he wouldn't have made this statement "sadly, no matter how effective our response becomes, there will be more oil and more damage before this siege is done." And by the way you weren't on it from day one, because if you had been you would have waved the Jones Act and allowed foreign help when it was offered in the early weeks, but you have to keep your loyalties to the Unions.
Lastly on the Green Energy angle, I refer all my readers to my previous posts for my full rebuttal, Nuclear Power & a Secret You Don't Know About, Ethanol - The Gas Substitute that Can’t, and Other Options, and The Oil Company Profits and the Truth Bill O’Reilly Ignores. But I will say this as he has shown when it comes to the clean-up, he will side with the environmentalist, socialist, and progressive agenda over the Ideas of Free Men born of the Free Market of Ideas which has made this nation great as it made Rome, Greece, Persia, and Carthage of the Ancient Age.
Solomon.
