Welcome to my blog, Solomon's Conservative Wisdom. The name of this blog comes from my middle name and the historical & biblical figure King Solomon. This group is dedicated to conservatism, and I invite all conservatives to join, I really don’t mind non-conservatives joining. All I expect is a respectful debate. So tell everyone you know.

The Unemployed Told They Need Not Apply.
As with my usual routine I like to check the news before I start doing things, and this is what I find, The Unemployed told they Need Not Apply. Many businesses are apparently doing this, posting boldly things like "unemployed candidates will not be considered" or "must be currently employed," now while I don’t want the government in privet businesses affairs I want to say something to them.
First I know you are getting flooded with people, most unemployed, applying for job openings you have, but what the hell are you thinking! Are you trying to help the Progressives! Right now the dems, liberals, progressives, and every one else is focused on the oil spill, but the minute there is a calm in the storm they will focus on you. Think about it when it comes to the top thing Americans want the politicians to focus on is the economy, and the top one of that is jobs. If the left gets started on this, they will have a field day with it, they will run you down and then they will want to pass legislation to forbid the discrimination of unemployed Americans, then the John Edwards lawyers will show up and the federal regulators wanting to stand over your
shoulders when you work on the job applications, the interviews, and when you make your decision on who to hire. If you think the costs of running a business in America are expensive, just wait till the Progressives get on your case for this. Just think about it if some of the ten plus percent (probably closer to fifteen plus) of the unemployed get a John Edwards lawyer and sues, especially if legislation is passed, the costs of running your business will go through the roof.
In fact at this point where people will sue at the drop of a hat, I wouldn’t be suppressed if we hear about some one suing because they believe they weren’t hired because they are unemployed by the end of this or next month.
As someone who is unemployed I now have to wonder if the reason I don’t get any replies to my many applications is because you want to be the Democrat Party’s symbol’s rear-end, and not consider those who are unemployed. As I said before I know you are getting flooded with people applying for job openings, but that is the way things are, do you think when some one hung a “help wanted” sign during the depression they didn’t have people lining up around the block for that job.
Now I know some one will show up and say, "See, see, businesses are against the little guy, you should become a liberal, democrat, or progressive," really? The problem with that is businesses are not against the little guy they are not like the European Elite who thought the peasants knew nothing, all businesses try to serve their customers to the best of there abilities, to give one hundred ten percent, because if they give bad service they won't be around very long. They live on the good graces of their clientele and if they should offend that clientele they can't survive. If anything businesses serve the peasants and in capitalism there is always someone else competing to take your place.
Now I am not for the government coming in to save the day, all they will do is make it worse, a business should for the most part have full power to decide who it will hire and fire, but those same business should look to the past and see who built this country. The men who from humble origins changed the world in a span less then a hundred years, these business if they start acting like the European Elite of old they will find themselves overtaken by a younger group of businesses who won’t hesitate at looking at all potential candidates.
This in some way is a good reason why we should let those to “big to fail” fail, they develop into a slow moving creature that eats everything else up leaving nothing else for others, they lumber around clumsily wasting resources, when these creatures are supported by the politicians this is what we get a stagnant economy where the resources go to feed these obsolete beasts while the people starve.
To finish with, any business who is thinking about doing this you should just drop the idea now the conservatives are trying to get this country back to the way it is supposed to be, free. We don’t need you to help the Progressives by giving them something they might be able to rally with.

Well said. The left has been doing themselves in pretty well all by themselves. We should not be helping. Enhancing a "dependent class" is not going to help.
ReplyDeleteIt's not so much us, but businesses who are getting flooded with applications for even the lowest job opportunity. I kind of understand what they are feeling, but by targeting the very people desperate for work to remove from the candidates list it can only help the progressives if the jump on this.
