I belong to a writing site, Writing.com, and receive several newsletters from the site, one (for spiritual) decided to go after the age old attack of no religion in politics specifically on gay marriage and included a link to this blog post, How to win a culture war and lose a generation, unfortunately the newsletter writer and the blogger Rachel Held Adams don't really realize they are on the wrong side of faith and history.
The reason I say what I do is because it's the liberal progressive churches which are failing faster then Solyndra after an Obama Bailout, losing members at a startling rate for proof see this article from the Blaze, ‘Cross-Dressing Clergy’: These Are the Reasons the Episcopal Church Could Be Near Collapse, there are a few more but that make all the points in one article. Now to the point of her post, losing a generation, this generation (those under forty, which am in) isn't being lost, for those who believe its antigay not to allow gay marriage that is unfortunate, but many of that generation fail to understand the Truth, And I go to Genesis 19:4-5 for proof, 4. But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5. And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And in Genesis 19:8. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. Why offer his daughters who "have not known man" if it wasn't about sex and in this case gay sex.
Too many wish to cast a propagandist net over Christianity as hateful and bigoted, yet it's the Christians who are threatened and their churches vandalized over the issue few Christians wish to do to gays what islamists do to gays ever day in the middle east. And yet we are the terrorists in their eyes. For being against gay marriage you call us hateful, when we simply argue and believe it's wrong.
And on Judging may I offer a complete quote from Jesus, Matthew 7:1-5, 1. Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
To deny that God created Man and Woman to be one it unfortunate, and what makes it even more unfortunate is these people claim we are misinterpreting God's intent but gods intent is clearly spelled out in His book the Bible.
And to all those fighting so hard for it a word of caution, once you open Pandora's box you can't stuff all those unintended consequences back into the box. Once those who want multi-marriage, marriage with animals, places, and things win their cases in courts by progressive judgements you'll understand what you have created.
Lastly on many of the born that way arguments used to fight for these things, what do you do when a progressive judge gives "rights" to a pedophile? After all if one's born that way how can you discriminate against them? That also covers serial killers, psychopaths, and rapists. I know it's a bit much but once you start an avalanche it does not stop until it decides to, and unintended consequences seem to be a hallmark of the progressive movement, especially when you throw out morality as old fashioned black and white thinking that is outdated, but in the last hundred years has throwing out that morality lead to better things. Schools are doing horribly, we're in 16 trillion dollars of debt, and the popular culture is about as clean as a public restroom toilet.
If you want the government out of peoples lives and marriage that would be one thing, but you wish to use the police powers of government to shut us down if you had your way, especially if one of those churches refused a gay wedding.

If gays wish to be left a lone will give it to them (unlike the islamists) but don't try to force what you want down our throats. That does not mean you'll get gay marriage by the way.
I'm about to make a radical statement - however, I've never been one to back down on my opinions. I will agree that they may be born that way - but - that does not make it right. As with many congenital defects - there are often times a cure or at least a treatment. My hypothesis is that there is a hormonal imbalance going on that could be corrected. After all, if a girl can take hormones so she can become a man since she "identifies" as a male - wouldn't it make just as much sense to actually flip it? Perhaps there is an imbalance where there is more testosterone than estrogen. After all, we are all born with both hormones. Males have more testosterone and women more estrogen.
ReplyDeleteConversely, those guys who take female hormones to become a woman because they "identify" as a women - couldn't they just as easily be given more testosterone and hormone replacement therapy to reduce their estrogen?
Seems this needs to be treated as a medical condition that it is.

The only problem is anyone who came up with a pill that could make one gay or strait would be called a hate crime by the gay fascists (see my updates on that one.) CA is trying to stop anything like that now by that law.
ReplyDeleteThe big problem in my purview is how long does it take for the old greek attitude to develop where man boy love become acceptable, even encouraged, once you start saying one bad behavior is normal what will the next one be. Like I said if they want to be left alone fine but if they don't stop trying to open Pandora's box its not going to be pretty after they open it.
Agreed. I read about that law out there - pretty crazy.
