Judge's Ruling a Knockout
Saw this and had to post it here.
She has no right to complain about her bail after what she did. And what she did reminds me of an old Dragnet episode, You can watch it here, Dragnet Burglary: Helpful Woman.
Which brings up a thought what would Joe Friday Say to her? ;)

Thoughts on the Next-Generation iPhone Situation.
For the last week or so we have all heard about the Next-Generation iPhone that was found in a bar that was left there by a too drunk Apple engineer, who is described as young by the way, then "sold" to Gizmodo, which they "reviewed or examined," then Apple demanded the Next-Generation iPhone back, and then the authority's got involved raiding the Gizmodo editor's home issuing the debate over whether he is covered by the shield law for journalists and the issue of journalistic ethics and police raids. And now the man who found it regrets his mistake.
First I want to go over some Common Sense things first, the man who eventually found this Next-Generation iPhone in his position, how ever he got it, at the bar is looking at least the charge of selling stolen property or a similar charge, next the editor whether he is considered a journalist or not can not receive or buy stolen property for a story, unless they obtain it to turn in to the proper authority's or owner and then they can with out threat do a news story on it in my opinion, and as to Gizmodo and criminal charges I don't think they face any credible charges.
Now as to whether the police should have done their raid differently, I think so, there is no evidence that the Gizmodo editor was buying tons of stolen property, not even a rumor, so they could have just used a subpoena to get him to produce what they wanted, and then a warrant if he didn't comply.
Personally to me this whole thing is turning into some kind of comedy skit one might see on TV, the way the story is developing.

Happy Meal Toys Banned in California County
Why is it that the Government and the Food Nazis have to keep trying to dictate how we live our lives despite the fact that the very people they claim they are protecting are strongly against this kind of dictation of their lives? Personally there is only one reason they are doing this, you have heard the phrase "Getting Your Foot in the Door," well this is what they are doing despite the fact that their new law only effects a few restaurants in unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County, if it stands its a start to getting into your home once they have their foot in the door.
Its the same thing with most progressive laws and regulations they only need their foot in the door, then they can get into your home to tell you how to live your life, and possibly what to think.
Read the full stories at Foxnews.com, Happy Meal Toys Could be Banned in California County & California County Bans Toys in Kids' Meals at Restaurants.
Also I have this clip of a Food Nazi for your enjoyment.

P.S. Neil Cavuto has it right the Food Nazis are becoming the new Burgermeisters.

Critics Want to Ground Eddie the Eagle
I saw this a few days ago in the morning, 4/27/2010, and wanted to post it and some quick thoughts on this issue.
While as a conservative I want to gut the Federal Education department and system, and burn down what is left after that, but this is one thing which I do not have a problem with. First it's the NRA mascot telling/informing children not to mess with a gun if the see/find one and to tell an adult, not some government bureaucrat telling our children we don't need guns any more in our society, although that is already happening with some progressive/liberal teachers. Second with so many parents with guns not properly teaching/telling their children not to play around with a 'real' gun, it makes sense to me, I should add some of those parents probably have a gun for illegitimate purposes. And as to the point of the children not retaining the information, while she may not be one of them, the liberals and progressives tell us we should teach sex education as soon as possible see my post, One Degree of Separation, on These Stories for proof, yet when it comes to our issues they say the children won't retain the information and we shouldn't do it. No what they want to do it take our money to indoctrinate our children that all guns are bad, except for the ones in the hands of the government and we don't really have a Right to Bear Arms despite the Second Amendment.
It's bad enough that we have all the socialist indoctrination going on in our school systems, we need to get some balance back in, what ever form it may be.

The Case against the Feds regulating the the Problems they created.
This is a continuation of my post, Bill O'Reilly Believes the Feds can Fix the Problems it Created.
In a conversation I had the other day on on small claims court and when someone sues a contractor when they mess up a job or don't do it right, it hit me that its the perfect argument against the Feds regulating the the Problems they created.
First let me lay out a simple hypothetical, you hire Federal Roofers to fix your roof because it has leaks, they come out give you price to do the job, you like it so you hire them. They show up and replace you old roof, then a week later during a rainstorm you start having leaks again. Now at this point you can go back to them to have them do the job again with no charge, or you can go to some one else who you have more faith in to get the job done right, and sue Federal Roofers for what you paid to get the job done right by another party. Now depending on your area and state, some places may require you to give them a second chance to fix the problem, but from personal experience when a particular group you hire to do a job doesn't get it right the first time, and I mean not getting it right in a fairly big way, tend not to get it right with the second chance.
Now the federal government created this whole mess in the first place by requiring the banks to make loans to people who couldn't possibly pay them, also what people like Bill O'Rilly don't pay attention to is the government threatened to take from the banks who complained that this was bad their federal credentials in other words these banks wouldn't be able to operate in the US and its territories, and so the banks wouldn't make any noise they backed these loans with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, with our tax dollars. Also it was the former head of Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae who came up with the idea of selling these bundled mortgages as investments.
So I ask again to Bill O'Rilly tell me that this whole mess isn't the fault of the Federal Government? And why should we give more power to the same people who made this mess in the first place, and then blame the private businesses when their pyramid scheme collapsed.
Solomon.

Climate Scientist, Heated Up Over Satirical Video, Threatens Lawsuit
Penn State climate scientist Michael Mann is upset over the satirical video "Hide the Decline" (see below) and is now threatening a lawsuit over it.
No Cap and Trade, a large organization that includes the group Mann is threatening to sue, Minnesotans for Global Warming, has a new version of the video "Hide the Decline II." (see below)
I have one question for him, if he thought ClimateGate was a pain in his you know what, a lawsuit would give anyone he sued full discovery and to quote Jeff Davis, the President of No Cap and Trade "there's a lot to look at in his work."
Look at Al Gore, not that I want to give him any praise, he's a little smarter even though he's been satirized on many shows, my personal favorite is the South Park episode "ManBearPig," he hasn't sued or threatened to sue any one or group because he knows, not that the debate is over, but that such a case would only hurt their cause when the light is shined on their so called evidence as recent events have shown.

Bill O'Reilly Believes the Feds can Fix the Problems it Created.
Here we go again, O'Reilly Believes the Feds who made the housing mess in the first place can now fix it! Does the phrase "one's born every minute" sound familiar, O'Reilly wants more government regulation of the markets to fix what the government created by way of its earlier regulations, does that even sound logical!? For example when people were complaining of long lines at the post office, what was the post office's answer? Why to remove all of the clocks! What next, if people keep complaining of long lines will the confiscate anything capable of keeping time until you leave the post office facilities!? John Stossel tried to get O'Reilly to see the error of that view but like with Oil O'Reilly lets his anger cloud his critical thinking on this, see my past articles for more on O'Reilly's clouded critical thinking The Oil Company Profits and the Truth Bill O’Reilly Ignores. & Ethanol - The Gas Substitute that Can’t. And Other Options.
One of the key things O'Reilly is ignoring on this is government used it's police powers on the banks to force them to make loans to people who couldn't pay them back, basically putting a gun to the head of the banks. Any bank that made a noise about making these loans was told they would lose their Federal backing, in other words they would not be able to operate in the territories of the United States, and to keep those banks quiet the Federal Government backed the loans with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, with our tax dollars. So O'Reilly tell me that this whole mess isn't the fault of the Federal Government.

What was he thinking, or was he even thinking.
One of the voices of the Geico commercials has found himself on the unemployment line, thanks to his anti-Tea Party voicemail he left on Freedomworks. By the way he isn't the one who does the Geico Gecko's voice.
Listen to it below.
Why is it that so many on the left think it's alright to demean those on the conservative spectrum and not expect if and when it gets out people won't be happy with you and might not buy your product. What was he thinking, or was he even thinking? Geico made the choice they thought was right, you can't have a national brand that isn't political have one of its employees possibly demeaning half of your consumer base. Now he's threatening to sue Freedomworks because Geico canned him, you make comments like that and think they won't get out, someone needs to do more critical thinking. Unfortunately we can expect more of this for the foreseeable future.

The "Human Rights" Con
With more and more so called "Human Rights" being created, most recently the "Right to Travel," Brussels Declares Vacation Time a Human Right, I wanted to share some stories & links about what this Con of Human Rights creates and is really about. The first is a story from Sweden, it entails the Swedish Government taking in to custody a seven year old boy over homeshcooling, (quick info, the Swedish police barged into a passenger jet awaiting departure from Sweden to India and forcibly took into custody the boy.) Read the full story at WND.com at this link, Parents plead for return of 7-year-old son Dad, mom being allowed 1 hour visit every 5 weeks. The next story is of German family seeking asylum here in the US, because they feared persecution if returned to their home country because of their decision to home school, by the way they have been granted asylum by a US federal immigration Judge, which will not make the progressives here or in Europe happy. Read the full story at WND.com at this link, Homeschoolers on run win U.S. asylum.

The Speech From the Street Fighter Movie.
I have been busy for the past week and haven't had the time to do any constructive posts, but I have something for you today. It is the speech made by Jean-Claude Van Damme as Colonel William F. Guile when the politician/bureaucrat tells him they are going to give in to the demands of the bad guy. If any one remembers the Street Fighter movie staring Jean-Claude Van Damme from 1994 most considered it a bad movie, I always thought it wasn't great but it isn't bad. Now for the Transcript of the Speech, I will explain why a Transcript afterwords.
I was reminded of this speech when I just watched again on tape the other day. It just seems to hit home to the point of the way the Progressives want to solve problems, especially in the recent light of Obama's Limiting Potential Uses of Nuclear Weapons, if you throw enough money at something or someone you will solve the problem.
A.N. Official: [getting saluted] As you were, Colonel.
Colonel William F. Guile: What a surprise. Welcome to the Shadaloo front. You're just in time for the kickoff.
A.N. Official: I'm afraid not, Colonel. The Security Council has just voted. They've decided to negotiate.
Colonel William F. Guile: You're joking!
A.N. Official: We think we can deal with General Bison. You're instructed to call off the assault. Contact him. Request an extension of his deadline. We are prepared to pay the ransom demand.
Colonel William F. Guile: Twenty billion dollars? What will prevent him from taking more hostages next month and asking for fifty billion?
[gives him a slight shove]
Colonel William F. Guile: One hundred billion?
A.N. Official: Colonel, have you lost your mind?
Colonel William F. Guile: No! You've lost your balls!
A.N. Official: Colonel Guile, deliver these instructions to your troops, then consider yourself relieved of your command!
Colonel William F. Guile: [solemnly] Troopers, I just received new orders. Our superiors say the war is cancelled. We can all go home. Bison is getting paid off for his crimes, and our friends who have died here will have died for nothing. But, we can all go home. Meanwhile, ideals like peace, freedom, and justice, they get packed up. But, we can all go home.
[angrily]
Colonel William F. Guile: Well, I'm not going home. I'm gonna get on my boat, and I'm going up river, and I'm going to kick that son of a bitch Bison's ass so hard that the next Bison wannabe is gonna feel it! Now, who wants to go home... and who wants to go with me?
[the troopers cheer]
A.N. Official: Colonel Guile! Colonel Guile, these instructions...!
[accidentally drops them into the water]
A.N. Official: Stop them, please!
Colonel William F. Guile: Hey, I would love to! But some moron just canned me!
Now the reason why this is a Transcript is I couldn't find a clip of the speech, it would seem that NBC Universal, A.K.A. the Obama Network, doesn't want it on the web, as Video anyway. This speech is one of the Greatest in Cinematic History, in my opinion anyway.

Proof Christianity Wasn't A Mystery Religion.
I am tired of the claims that Christianity started out as a Mystery Religion, so from the Internet and YouTube I present an Episode of Ancient Discoveries, Machines of the Gods, in five parts. I hate to have to use something that will take up to an hour to watch, but it is in five parts and each part is about ten minutes long so you can watch it in segments and for the time being it will be exactly where you find it again.
Christianity has not used tricks to get people to believe. Faith is a powerful thing if you have faith in anything nothing will be impossible.
And I already know what some are going to say so I am going to destroy that now.
First Honest Christians do not stoop to such trickery, I have found that those who do tend toward cults and cultists. By the way, I don't want to hear any comments about Christianity being a cult. Second the "If Heron was working for secular reasons" argument is some of the biggest BS I have heard in my life, Heron was working at the Library of Alexandria, where do you think he got the name Heron of Alexandria! The Library of Alexandria during its day was the modern equivalent of the Smithsonian, combined with the top engineering schools, and think tanks of today. And just for kicks the Antikythera mechanism proves the secular reasons argument is BS, I have watched most of the Ancient Discoveries episodes and they also prove that argument BS. If you look back to my post They're making the same mistake again. Russia Unveils Stealth Fighter. The US military didn't dismiss Jet Technology for religious reasons, they and others thought it was impossible, all while Nazi Germany and Britain were developing Jets, so historically it would make since that there would be men who would not see the military or other applications of this technology, the myth of religious science retardation is constantly used to shut us up, I am sick and tired of this BS and its time to fight back, ALSO, the show proves to me that Humanity is more then just some evolved animal.

You Got a light?!
If you haven't heard about it yet, Qatari diplomat Mohammed Al-Madadi (age 27) decided to make a really stupid joke when he was caught trying to smoke in the restroom of an airliner in flight, the joke was that he had been trying to light his shoes. Oh but it gets better, he was on his way to see a convicted 9/11 terrorist. We are told don't even say 'Hi Jack' in the airport even if you see someone named 'Jack,' what did they tell him when he was chosen to be a diplomat, did they even tell him what to do and not to do, not to attack his age but he is 27 you would think they (Qatar) would have had an older diplomat tutor him in what to say and not say. After all it could have turned out a lot worse for him, on the plane, if the passengers had panicked thinking it was a terrorist act.
Personally this guy needs a kick in the pants at the least for his 'joke,' but that's just me, or is it. I would like to hear from some others and I will post a poll on it.

Strange Crime News Story.
Here is a strange crime story, I don't even know what to say. So just read it at Foxnews.com, Police: Woman listed victim as 'sacrifice' in cell.
Solomon.
P.S. Actualy there is one think I can think of, it kind of reminds me of that old story, "The Lottery."

The U.N.'s "Love Boat"
I was going to do more on this, but I have been too busy to go in depth with this News.
But to cover some obvious points, first we can see the obvious difference between private charity and government charity, the U.N. is leasing these ships at $112,500 a day, which it wasn't disclosing to the world. But, wait there's more, as they say on TV! Some of these funds are going to a company closely linked to the government of Venezuelan, and Hugo "The Thug" Chavez. Oh, and as to the post title one of the ships has been dubbed "The Love Boat" by the U.N. "workers." My self I am not surprised by this, after all the U.N. brought us the Oil for Food scandal, that was only discovered after the Iraq War. (Which reminds me there is something I have to post on that latter this weekend.) If the U.N. wanted improve the lives of the Haitians they would have used the ships to really help them such as treating some of them to a few days on the ships.

Dr. Phil's Legal Troubles
First to answer this question and then I will comment, Two guests who admitted to committing crimes on the show end up in jail; do the convicts have a case against the TV host? Hell, NO!
Now for my commentary,
I actually watched this episode when it was first aired a few years ago, after all could you? With all the previews talking about them I just couldn't resist it, and I have to say it was like watching an accident happen in real life in slow motion. What isn't shown in this clip is the fact that they wanted Dr. Phil's help to go legit, they wanted to start a legitimate business by selling non-stolen goods by buying things direct from manufacturers to sell online. That was part of the "Help" they wanted, and I can guarantee you that even Dr. Phil wanted no part in that. And the worst part about this couple is they took their kids with them on their shoplifting excursions and might have used them in shoplifting. Not to condone criminal activity, they defiantly qualify for stupidest criminals, if they had any brains they would have sold off most of their "merchandise" and bought some kind of small business or a franchise of some kind, all stories of criminals "going legit" they take their illegitimate earnings and invest them into some kind of legitimate business, and again I do not condone criminal activity.
The funniest thing about this when it first aired was the fact that as soon as it was aired the police and other law enforcement agencies would be fast tracking some warrants to search their house and property.
I have to ask this Judge one question did you even watch this show, if you had you wouldn't have come down on Dr. Phil you would have praised him for exposing them. And as to the issue of warning them he did, also it wasn't a live show, in terms of being aired live, they could have asked to stop taping and go to a lawyer. And as to a lawyer, I don't think even Johnnie Cochran could get them off.

Cancer Drug May Keep Lockerbie Bomber Alive for Five More Years
When I first heard that the Lockerbie Bomber was going to be released, I knew it was a bad
idea, and at the time (and still today) was afraid that our government under the progressives
would do the same stupid move. After his release he was welcomed as a hero in Libya. Now
there are reports that a cancer drug may keep him alive for five more years. Some punishment, he gets to live a life of luxury as a hero in Libya. And in case someone brings up the fact he has
cancer and how it’s a horrible way to go, I know this already my father died from cancer, but it
was in the last year of it that he really went down hill.
I don't remember exactly where I first heard of this but you can probably find it in some more conservative news websites.
And for your enjoyment a political cartoon that symbolizes this whole bad thing.

The twelve-year old killer
While going through my saved political cartoons I found this one and thought it would be perfect for this story, Adult Trial for Boy in Death of Pa. Woman, Fetus.
I don't exactly remember what it was about a few years ago but ironically it might fit for some recent stories in the news.
And as to the issue of trying the boy as an adult, he took a gun and !warning possible disturbing imagery!, blow her head off with a shotgun! I have a hard time wanting to be soft on this boy blowing someone's head off with a shotgun isn't something a normal person would do even when in a violent situation defending themselves.
Solomon.
P.S. by the way blowing someones head off with a shotgun is usually reserved for use ageist zombies and use by the occasional crazy killer, which, the latter may apply to the boy in the story if he is disturbed.

Obama to Limit Potential Uses of Nuclear Weapons
I want to tackle this subject from a different perspective then my usual, I want to tackle this from the perspective of the (a strong) leader of a nation, I'm not but have played a slew of Civilization Games, (Civ III is the best in my opinion) but I digress. Now, I am not the leader of any nation but pretending for the moment I was the leader of a Neo Rome I would never make a statement or policy like what Obama has, not to use nuclear weapons against most non-nuclear countries, no matter what they use against us. This is just asking for something to happen and as to keeping "all options" on the table for nations like North Korea and Iran, I have to be honest I really don't trust Obama and his policies in this area, North Korea and Iran are far more likely to pass the "Nuclear Football" to terrorists or another third party then do the job themselves, and I can just hear their excuse now, "We can not attack a sovereign nation for the "Actions" of terrorists with "loose" connections to (insert your favorite possible enemy nation)." Now, as someone who has played games like Civilization III where a computer opponent with no real personal religion or philosophy's is far more likely to attack you then in real war, I have to speak of personal experience in these games when you have a large military force with an equal might an opponent is far less likely to attack you, when you can demonstrate to an enemy that you can or could destroy them they will be far more likely to just play a war of words.
Now personally looking at history this also proves true, take for example what is known as the golden age of piracy, real pirates not the music and video pirates, it started out with the Privateers who would attack the Spanish treasure ships transporting the riches of the new world to Spain, these Privateers were legitimate pirates who were given what basically could be considered a piracy licence to attack the ships of that nation's enemies, with some restrictions, these Privateers would pay a portion of their booty to their sponsors. This is a good example of what happens when you have a superior military force to your potential enemies.
And to answer any questions of how you deal with pirates and terrorists, for the most part you should treat them as enemy combatants or like saboteurs, they have no rights under the Genia Convention, can be tried in a military court, and can be put to death if found guilty, also to be kind they get some appeals, how about three strikes, three appeals and its over, unless something comes up that would change the facts of your case you don't get any more.
If you are unwilling to show or display that you can destroy an enemy in seconds or a short period of time, you will open yourself up to any number of possible threats to you nation. When you are the leader of a nation great or small your interests should be your people, their God given rights, freedom and security. Balancing these can be hard, but it is doable.
Solomon.
P.S. I have been away for about week I have some backlog of subjects I want to cover, so I might do up to two or three posts a day if I get the chance.
