Is the GOP becoming New Coke?

With the Obama’s reelection and no gains in the senate it seems that the GOP has decided to go New Coke, to become democrat light, but as history has shown when given a choice people will prefer to choose between two different options generally not two similar ones. Chinese or pizza not Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. Many elite GOPers see the losses of 2012 due to candidates who didn’t have the sense to keep (possibly) honest opinions to themselves, despite the fact they should have known that some so-called “moderates” and independents would react negatively to those opinions. Now I’m not saying they should have lied just gone with simple answers stating they were pro-life and that, that child did nothing to deserve a death penalty, no honest independent would have voted against them if they had said something like that now back to my point. Many elites in the GOP now want to restrict the people from making choices, acting like the democrats in infantalizing people, stopping conservative and Tea Party candidates from running against the establishment choice.

You see the mistake Coke made was that the tests Pepsi used in their ads and research were biased towards Pepsi when coke fell for this they made the mistake that the GOP is now making only now with more far reaching consequences. But Coke quickly learned their flagship product and name sake being “like” their competition didn’t work as they had hoped for. Public reaction to new Coke quickly soured, ironically lead by a minority of people, soon that opinion steam rolled to a point where Coke was forced to return to the real thing and their roots. The GOP will quickly learn that same lesson as their new coke candidates lose and the classic candidates win. For now I believe that conservatives need to think about what they are going to say as your not just running against a democrat but their own version of peovda that will run you into the ground just for the heck of it. We will also need to work together better with less infighting, leave that to the democrats, disagreements are fine but leave the full-fledged fights to the ring.

One last thing for you Tea Party candidates rehearse everything you believe in, you do not need to lie but simplify any opinion that the MSM could below out of proportion to one that most “moderates” and independents wouldn’t hold against you. Know your enemies winning a battle and war is about the plan & preparation as much as the equipment. Memorize every “controversial” conservative social belief according to the MSM and ready yourself for battle.

By the way after Coke Classic was returned to the market New Coke quickly died out, it was then returned to the market in 1990 in small test scale as Coke II and fully in 1992, but soon Coke II withered and was then found only in a few markets where it was popular until its production was ended in August 16 2002. Proving that often a bad idea that is tried and failed should be left in the graveyard of bad ideas.

P.S. I would note it is possible that the GOP is dead with the choices they make, but if they do return later to the “classic” formula (A.K.A. triditional values) they could be repaired and healed to a proper state that people would believe in, preferably keeping an eye on them as well, allowing the Republican Party to pull a Lazarus. But that is yet to be seen if that will happen. 

Cumulative Voting, A Bad Idea Made Real in Port Chester, NY.

While scanning through news stories online I came across this one about the residents getting 6 votes each in a suburban NY election, this is an alert to all conservatives, this story is a disturbing jump to Progressive ideas made real far more then any of us would like. This was by the order and on the instructions of a federal judge and the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a new election system crafted to help boost Hispanic representation. This is the progressives most disturbing move yet.

The Founders Were Fabulous

It seems that the left and progressives want to say and diminish the importance of the Founding Fathers. With the rise of the Tea Parties and the resurgence of the founding history of America the left and progressives have redoubled their offensive against this history and facts.

One of the voices of the Geico commercials has found himself on the unemployment line, thanks to his anti-Tea Party voicemail he left on Freedomworks. By the way he isn't the one who does the Geico Gecko's voice.

Why is it that so many on the left think it's alright to demean those on the conservative spectrum and not expect if and when it gets out people won't be happy with you and might not buy your product. What was he thinking, or was he even thinking? Geico made the choice they thought was right, you can't have a national brand that isn't political have one of its employees possibly demeaning half of your consumer base. Now he's threatening to sue Freedomworks because Geico canned him, you make comments like that and think they won't get out, someone needs to do more critical thinking. Unfortunately we can expect more of this for the foreseeable future.

Marco Rubio, Charlie Crist, and The Republican Candidates for Florida Senate Race

Today I watched the debate on Fox News Sunday and after listening to Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist with Chris Wallace asking questions and referring the debate, I have to say its over in my opinion. Governor Charlie Crist spent well over half his time attacking Marco Rubio and every time Crist went into an attack I could only shake my head at, what looks to me, his desperation, he can not win against Rubio in the normal debate of issues. He just couldn't help but go back to the same attacks against Rubio again and again, and that made him look desperate to me.

What was worse for Charlie Crist is some of the things that Chris Wallace brought up, such as former Florida Governor Jeb Bush's criticism over the stimulus pork. The current list of people supporting Rubio doesn't help Crist. Also raising taxes fees when you said you wouldn't didn't help President Bush Sr. and I its not helping you now.

Marco Rubio came off as someone who was looking to debate the issues that are important to America, and while I, and I think all Americans, want to know if a candidate might have a dirty streak Charlie Crist just kept going back to the same attack and when you keep up the same attack it not only gets old but people start asking do you have any real ideas. Well do you Charlie Crist, do you have any ideas? I heard you today but it seemed that you were the politicians we are currently angry with, the same ones who just shoved health-care down the throats of the American people when they said stop and start over.

It looks like the Florida Republican Senate Race is over to me I think Charlie Crist will lose to Marco Rubio, and with the rumors of Crist's possible running as an independent it now seems we are looking at the opposite of what was talked about a few weeks ago about Marco Rubio running as a third party, Tea Party Candidate. If Crist should run as an independent and Rubio losses and a Democrat wins Crist will have to hide his face for sometime.

The Coffee Party, the Anti-Tea Party.

Even though I follow the news and most conservative media (even some liberal/progressive
media), I hadn't really heard of the new Coffee Party movement which was to have its big events
yesterday, March 13 2010, after doing some research on the Coffee Party I have developed some opinions on them. First the Coffee Party is intended to be the antithesis to the Tea Party
movement, it's based on their underlying principle that the government is not the enemy of the
people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic
process in order to address the challenges we face as Americans.

On that principle, I want to make an argument based on a mythical creature from Norse mythology, Fenrir, I view big government like the mythical Fenrir if allowed it will cause great
trouble, it will take, eat, and destroy whatever it can. If you don't chain it down and restrain it, it
will do whatever it want's using whatever logic that makes since to it. While those in the Coffee
Party movement may view big government as a good thing and may be well meaning, history has shown that big governments have a poor history of being good, from Nazi Germany to Soviet Russia and Communist China a country with a big government with the power will abuse the people. And the country itself needs not be large, Fidel Castro in Cuba, Pol Pot's Cambodia, and Hugo Chávez in Venezuela, has shown that when the government becomes too large it will abuse the people. History has shown when the government isn't restrained like the mythical Fenrir by something like our constitution it will eventually abuse the people.

And lastly I want to discuss something else the Coffee Party has said, "We the People demand:
Reason and civility in public affairs; A government accountable to the People; Liberty & Justice
for All." Note that I have put the word civility in bold in the last ten years I have come up with an idea of False Civility. What is this? False Civility is when you demand "Civility" in a political
debate or discussion, but when it comes to the other side, specifically progressives, they scream
or complain about you being uncompromising on the subject. Personally I believe false civility is
the root of our current problems, I'm not saying one shouldn't be civil just not to give in to
someone just because they won't. Consider taxes, despite how often it is sown and proven that
you get more money with lower taxes, by letting the people have "THEIR MONEY," you will not only get more tax dollars but the economy will be in the best health. Every time the issue comes up the progressives claim that raising taxes will improve the economy and that conservatives just want to give tax cuts to the rich. Common question for those on the left, and I would like to hear from others on this "Have you ever gotten a Paying job from a poor person?" and I don't want to hear any answers like "sure, I was hired by the government" the government doesn't count! The government represents everyone, from Bill Gates to the Tiny Tims of America.
