Cumulative Voting, A Bad Idea Made Real in Port Chester, NY.

While scanning through news stories online I came across this one about the residents getting 6 votes each in a suburban NY election, this is an alert to all conservatives, this story is a disturbing jump to Progressive ideas made real far more then any of us would like. This was by the order and on the instructions of a federal judge and the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a new election system crafted to help boost Hispanic representation. This is the progressives most disturbing move yet.

The basis for this cumulative voting election was the fact that Port Chester with approximately 30,000 residents is nearly half Hispanic, and no Latino had ever been elected to any of the six trustee seats. Which until now were chosen in a conventional at-large election. Most voters were white, and white candidates always won. Federal Judge Stephen Robinson said that violated the Voting Rights Act, excuse me, and my language, but how the hell does that violate the Voting Rights Act if they didn't vote its their problem. the progressives have changed the rules now with this action they can declare that an area with a high minority population and no minorities in sets for those areas that can do this, a system called cumulative voting, in which residents get six votes each to apportion as they wish among the candidates, the judge also ordered Port Chester to implement in-person early voting, allowing residents to show up on any of five days to cast ballots.

The fact some find it disturbing, but still voted six times disturbs me, further there were voters who praised cumulative voting. Even more disturbing is what one of the lawyers for the lawsuit said "That the goal was not merely to encourage more Hispanics to vote but to create a system whereby the Hispanic community would be able to nominate and elect a candidate of their choice." This is a gross violation of what the Republic was founded on.

Considering the implications of the census and the illegal population this only makes this gross violation potentially far more dangerous a tool for the progressives and the Obama Administration, and the fact that this hasn't gotten more coverage scares me.

Update 2:15 6/16/2010

Apparently the most of the hispanic population of Port Chester is either too young or they are not U.S. Citizens making this more then a gross violation of our Constitution and Republic but a usurpation. Worse hispanic groups are cheering this as the way to go for future elections, you can be sure La Raza will diffenitly try this in their attempt to steal back the Southwest.

Solomon.

  1. Wow, that has made my fail meter go right off the scale. I wonder if the lawyers worked for ACORN.

  2. Either ACORN or SEIU. I'm sure Obama approved of this as well.
