Climate Change, Global Warming, or whatever they will call it next.

With the Climate in Copenhagen turning into a circus, and the threat to our lifestyles and likelihoods from it becoming clearer with ever passing moment, I thought I would remake the argument against Climate Change.
First I want to take us back before the thirteenth century, during a period known as the Medieval Warm Period that lasted from about 800-1300AD. During this period temperatures were warmer then they had been before, so much so that crops requiring warmer temperatures were able to be cultivated in regions they had been able to before. One of the hallmarks of this period was that wetlands dried up greatly reducing the diseases caused by mosquitoes. The hockey stick graph that you see usually doesn’t show this period. The best example of the Medieval Warm Period I can give you is Greenland, it wasn’t called that to draw settlers by ruse it was green during that period.
Now what came after the Medieval Warm Period was known as the Little Ice Age, if you haven’t heard of it before don’t be surprised, in the modern climate change the debate is over crowd they try anything to cover up the fact that their proof is a house of cards, as the current climate-gate emails have shown. Now the Little Ice Age started sometime in the thirteenth century lasting until the middle of the eighteenth century and during this period the average was four degrees cooler then today. While you might not have heard of the Little Ice Age you might recognize some of the events it helped to become famous, such as Washington’s crossing the
Delaware with ice floating in the river, Neapolitans fateful march on Russia, and even the French revolution might not have happened without it, the peasants grew cereal crops which were extremely vulnerable to the colder climate, crop practices throughout Europe had to be altered to adapt to the shortened, less reliable growing season, and there were many years of death and famine, in fact in France the king tried to popularize a crop that was not vulnerable to the climate, the potato by putting out the word he ate them with his dinner, but the french peasants
were steadfast against it. There are many more events related to the Little Ice Age but the best one I can give is the year without a summer, and no that’s not some Rankin-Bass special, it was a year 1816 where summer never came due to the climate and snow fell in July.
Before and during the Medieval Warm Period there were no coal fired plants, oil refineries, or SUVs, if you throw these facts at the climate debate is over crowd they either try to ignore it or dismiss you, even better they now try to argue that it was the Industrial Revolution that took us out of the Little Ice Age so even more of a reason to control man’s actions! Even if the climate was getting warmer how do they know its not natural, take this simple point many estimate the temperatures during the Jurassic period it was 5.4 degrees F warmer then today. So until the temperature at least surpasses that don’t talk to me about regulating humanity’s actions.
